Holocaust Memorial Day

 Aberdeen Holocaust Commemoration Committee brings to you a series of events to commemorate this day. A special event will be held at the Cowdray Hall at Aberdeen Art Gallery, Schoolhill on Thursday 27 January from 11.30am onwards.

Aberdeen will commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) with a special event in the Cowdray Hall at Aberdeen Art Gallery, Schoolhill on Thursday 27 January.

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) – is held internationally on 27 January to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust alongside the millions of other people killed under Nazi persecution of other groups and in genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. 

The date, 27 January, marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.
